Gareth Jones

Senior Planner

Gareth joined the ET Planning team in July 2021 as a Planner based out of the Crowthorne office. As a Senior Planner Gareth can apply his knowledge and experience of the planning system by supporting clients with a range of services including planning appraisals, applications and appeals. Gareth has worked on a variety of planning projects including householder development applications, large site developments and renewable energy projects; working for a large multidisciplinary planning consultancy prior to joining ET Planning. Gareth has a keen interest in the growth of cleaner energy projects across the country and has played a key role in securing planning permissions for a number of these developments. One such planning project was the creation of a solar farm in Bedfordshire. After joining the ET Planning Team in July 2021, Gareth’s role within the Berkshire and Hampshire Team at ET Planning has seen him guide development proposals from initial appraisals, through to pre-application and eventual full planning application stage.

Gareth graduated from the University of Reading with a 2:1 in Human Geography BSc in 2019. It was as part of this course that his interest in the urban environment begun to develop, and subsequently undertook a Masters in Spatial and Development Planning at the University of Reading also, graduating in 2020 with a Merit. Gareth successfully passed his APC from the Royal Town Planning Institute in May 2023 and is now a fully chartered member of the RTPI.

Gareth is an avid football fan championing both local (Swansea) and national teams (Wales) from his roots in South Wales where he grew up. When he’s not watching football, you’ll probably find him planning his next travel adventures whether it’s a sunny island getaway or exploring places a bit closer to home such as to his favourite holiday spot in Edinburgh.
