Old Basing & Lychpit Neighbourhood Plan Reaches Pre-Submission Stage

Old Basing & Lychpit Neighbourhood Plan Reaches Pre-Submission Stage

The Old Basing & Lychpit Neighbourhood Plan Review is taking an important step forward, with pre-submission consultation (Regulation 14) commencing on 26 January.

This milestone represents months of collaborative work between the local community, parish representatives and technical specialists, all focused on shaping a planning framework that reflects local priorities while meeting statutory requirements.

What is Pre-Submission Consultation?

Pre-submission consultation is a crucial stage in the neighbourhood planning process. It provides residents, stakeholders and statutory consultees with the opportunity to:

  • Review the draft Neighbourhood Plan in full
  • Understand proposed planning policies
  • Comment on whether the plan reflects local aspirations
  • Help refine the document before it is formally submitted to the local planning authority (Basingtoke and Deane Borough Council)

Feedback received during this period will directly inform revisions to the plan prior to submission, independent examination and if required referendum.

How ET Planning Assist with a Neighbourhood Plan?

At ET Planning, we specialise in supporting parish councils, neighbourhood forums and community groups at every stage of the neighbourhood planning process. Our experience includes:

  • Community engagement support – helping to design and manage meaningful consultation
  • Policy compliance and examination readiness – ensuring plans meet national and local planning requirements
  • Ongoing advice – from designation through to referendum and post-adoption updates
