Build a planning career with room to grow

At ET Planning we want everyone here to do their best work and to keep growing while they do it. We are a planning consultancy, and the people in our team are what clients come to us for.

We work flexibly, we invest in how people develop, and we are open about how careers progress. Whether you are starting out as a graduate planner, an experienced fee-earner or part of our operations and marketing team, you will have a manager, a plan for your development and regular conversations about where you want to go.

Browse our current vacancies below. If nothing fits right now, we are still happy to hear from you.

Support to progress at every stage

Everyone at ET Planning has a personal development plan, owned by you and built with your line manager. It defines where you want to grow and two or three live personal development objectives, and we review it at your mid-year and end-of-year appraisals.

Your development is part of the working rhythm, not a once-a-year form:

  • Induction. A programme that runs over several weeks, with a company-level session with senior management and a departmental one with your team. Your manager sets a training schedule around your job description.
  • Monthly 1-2-1s. Regular time with your manager to set objectives, review progress and talk about what you want next.
  • Quarterly self-reflection. A short self-assessment against a guide written for your next step, so you can choose one thing to strengthen each quarter.
  • Clear guides for each role. Our "Thinking Like a..." guides cover every fee-earner step from graduate to equity partner, with parallel tracks for operations and marketing colleagues.
  • Appraisals. Twice a year, with a salary review each December.

Progression here is about how you think and what you contribute, not time served. We are also upfront that a promotion must meet a real business need and an open role. We build your development either way, because growing your capability is worth it in its own right.
