Plans to convert existing office accommodation into three apartments on Sunninghill High Street were approved in November 2017.
The plans included space for refuse and cycle storage, and whilst the parking provision proposed fell short of the Borough’s current standards, ET Planning evidenced that the shortfall for the new development actually provides more parking spaces than the site currently offers which, measured against the Council’s standards for office accommodation, also falls short. As the proposal resulted in a lesser shortfall than the existing provision, the proposal was found to have a beneficial effect on local highway safety and traffic generation.
ET Planning was also able to use the Prior Approval process in this instance, demonstrating that a building in existing office use can be converted into residential apartments without the need for full planning permission, saving both time and money for the client.
