Associate Director
Katie Walker is an Associate Director of ET Planning, with nearly 20 years of experience in the planning sector, Katie brings a wealth of expertise spanning both public and private practice.
Katie has extensive experience in both the public and private sector, having worked for local authorities as well as private practices. She has previously worked in London, including local authority; the Greater London Authority; and private consultancies; as well as in the home counties. This experience has given Katie a wide breadth of knowledge in planning in different sectors and locations, as well as giving her the skills to navigate all aspects of the planning system successfully.
Katie has successfully prepared and managed planning applications across a wide spectrum of sectors, including tourism and leisure; education, commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments. She has represented clients at numerous planning appeals, including as an expert witness at hearings and public inquiries.
In addition to her project work, Katie is an active contributor to the wider property and development community, regularly speaking on expert panels nationwide. Her leadership role within the company continues to contribute towards shaping ET Planning’s reputation for delivering robust, responsive, and community-focused planning advice.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in English Literature – Cardiff University
- Master of Science degree in City and Regional Planning – Cardiff University
- Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI)

- Local Authority Experience – Strong background in public sector planning, including Region planning; development control; and policy implementation.
- Organisation and Project Management – Proven ability to coordinate complex planning projects from inception through to determination and appeal.
- Leadership and Team Management – Skilled in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing internal and external consultants to achieve successful outcomes.
