ET Planning are looking to the future of the planning industry and have been meeting students from across Oxford as they explore the career opportunities available to them.
Where did ET Planning meet students?
On Monday 10th October ET Planning joined with over 60 other companies to be a part of the busy and bustling Built Environment Career Fair in the Oxford Brookes Headington Campus.
ET Planning, as a company, are passionate about inspiring and supporting students to discover more about working within Town Planning.
It provided the perfect opportunity for students from across the area to ask questions and to find out more about how they could progress and gain experience within the industry they’re so passionate about.
They were also able to connect directly with the ET Planning team to learn more about what working within a local planning consultancy was like.
What are the opportunities available to students?
ET Planning enjoyed speaking to first, second and third year students about upcoming opportunities within the company where they could gain industry experience.
ET Planning is pleased to be offering summer internships, work placements and graduate scheme opportunities, all of which were of particular interest to the Oxford students.
What questions did the students have for the ET Planning team?
Students speaking to the team on the day were keen to hear that ET Planning, as a private planning consultancy, deals with such a broad spectrum of planning projects and has offices located in Oxford, Berkshire, Shropshire, Surrey and Exeter.
It was also important to the students that, as part of an internship or placement programme, that they could really get involved within the team and take on responsibility within certain planning projects, which ET Planning fully supports; knowing that this is the perfect way for prospective planners to grow, develop and thrive within the planning industry.
Many students also mentioned that ET Planning appealed to them due to the size of the company, the different office locations and flexible working, and the variety of planning work that they dealt with – all attributes that ET Planning pride themselves on.
What was the outcome of the Built Environment Fair?
The fair was the perfect opportunity for employers and students alike to learn more about each other as well as for the prospective planners to learn more about the industry and how they might be able to progress their career and gain valuable experience.
Dozens of students expressed an interest in working with ET Planning in the future and signed up to receive further information and job alerts.
